Professional legal team headshots
Professional Headshots for Lawyers in Melbourne
A headshot you won’t object to.
A firm built on people
When a law firm builds its brand around care, integrity and personalised service, the imagery on its website has to reflect exactly that. Confident but approachable.
We recently had the pleasure of working with the team at Galea & Faustin Solicitors, a Melbourne law firm based in Narre Warren, on team headshots. If you are looking for an amazing team of solicitors this team are welcoming, professional and will set your mind at ease.
Galea & Faustin provides family law, immigration, property, wills and estates, commercial law and civil litigation. The team is culturally diverse and multilingual, speaking across English, French, Spanish, Creole, Mandarin, Hebrew, Malay, Punjabi and Hindi, to assist clients navigating complex legal matters in their own language.
Founded in 2018 by principal solicitor Patricia Galea, who started as a sole practitioner and has since built the firm into a thriving practice of 12 lawyers and support staff. Her husband Nathan Galea joined as Practice Manager, bringing more than 20 years of people management experience to the team.

Headshot for lawyers that build trust
A professional headshot is vital for legal professionals. They are part of whether clients decide whether to make contact in the first place. For a sector built on trust, that matters!
A few principles we kept front of mind throughout the shoot:
Consistency across the team. When every team member’s headshot is shot the same way, the firm looks unified and intentional. Mismatched, dated or DIY photos send the opposite signal.
Approachability without losing authority. Clients are often coming to lawyers during difficult life moments. They need to see a face that looks competent and human at the same time.
Currency. A headshot taken five years ago, before a haircut, a glasses change or a career step up, quietly undermines the rest of the brand work.
Brand alignment. A firm whose differentiator is care should show they are a professional legal practice. Photography is one of the strongest tools for visualising what makes a firm different.
Behind the scenes
A team headshot session is as much about the experience as the final images. We work hard to make the day feel relaxed and well-paced, so each team member arrives at the camera ready to give their best. We look at the details to make sure everyone looks their best and ease the nerves for natural, authentic smiles.
The result is a set of headshots that work as hard as the team does, across their website, LinkedIn profiles, email signatures, marketing materials, presentations and speaking events.
Importantly as the team expands, we can come back a duplicate the set up for a consistent, growing team.

Headshots for your law firm
If your team is overdue for a headshot refresh, or you’re a sole practitioner or partner looking to update your own, we’d love to help. We work with lawyers, barristers and legal teams across Melbourne, in studio or on location at your office or chambers.
Imagery that works as hard as you do.
AI vs Authenticity: Why Real Photography Still Matters
AI vs Authenticity: Why Real Photography Still Matters
The other day, something blew me away. Someone had taken a single headshot of me and turned it into a full video. Me, moving and turning, recognisably me. Except it wasn’t me at all. It was impressive. It was also a little unsettling.
Because here’s the truth. Anyone can now create a photo or video of any of us. From a single image. In minutes. And that’s exactly why the conversation around AI vs authenticity keeps surfacing in the meeting I have with business owners, marketers, and creatives.
So the big question keeps coming up: AI, good or evil?
It’s Neither.
It’s a Tool.
AI itself isn’t the villain or the hero. It’s a hammer. It can build a house or break a window, depending on who’s holding it. The intention of the user is what tips the scale.
But like jumping out of a plane, there’s no going back now. The parachute is open, the ground is coming, and the only real question is how we land.
The Line Every Professional Has to Draw
To stay in front, professionals have to start asking the harder questions.
Where’s the line? Do we lose ourselves in a world of AI conversations between AI-generated faces, posting AI versions of ourselves to AI selling to our customers? Or do we let AI streamline the busywork (the scheduling, the drafts, the data crunching) so we can pour our energy into the creative, human work only we can do?
I genuinely can’t picture what the world looks like in ten years. AI is moving that fast. But as business owners, we don’t have the luxury of waiting to see how it shakes out. We have to be looking ahead now.
And as individuals? We have to be more discerning than ever. We can no longer believe everything we see. We may be disappointed one day to discover that a person we’ve been following, whose posts we’ve liked, whose advice we’ve taken, isn’t a person at all. Just binary code with a convincing smile.
AI vs Authenticity: Where Does That Leave Your Business?
These tools are now in the hands of well-intentioned people and criminals. Same software. Wildly different intent.
Which is exactly why, for businesses, transparency and trust matter more than they ever have. When everything can be faked, the brands that show up as undeniably real are the ones people will gravitate toward. Authentic faces. Authentic stories. Authentic moments captured in a way that proves a real human was there, doing the thing.
That’s where real photography and videography still win, and frankly, where I think the value is only going up.
A real photograph carries something AI can’t replicate. It captures a moment that actually happened. The light was real. The expression was real. The story behind that smirk or that handshake or that product reveal was real. When your audience sees your team, your space, your work documented authentically, they don’t have to wonder if it’s true. They can feel it.
AI can fake the surface. It can’t fake the moment.
The Plus Side
I’ll admit, there was one upside to all of this. When I created the AI video above: I didn’t have to actually jump out of a plane. 🪂😄
But for the work that matters (the headshots that introduce you to your next client, the brand video that tells people who you really are, the event photography and videography) there’s no shortcut worth taking. Real still matters. Probably more now than ever.
Where Do You Draw the Line?
If you’re a business thinking about how to stand out in a sea of synthetic content, the answer isn’t to out-AI the AI. It’s to double down on what’s undeniably you.
That’s the whole point of the AI vs authenticity conversation. The brands that win from here on out are the ones who choose to stay real on purpose.
That’s what we do. We capture the real version of your business (the people, the work, the moments) in a way that builds the kind of trust no algorithm can manufacture.
If you’re ready for photo and video that is what it says it is, let’s talk. We’d love to help you show up as the real thing in a world that increasingly isn’t.

JTW Building Event Photography and Videography
Capturing Project Handover Celebrations: Corporate Event Photography and Videography in Action
Capturing business milestones
For a builder, the most exciting part of the build is often the handover — seeing the delighted faces of clients and watching months of hard work come together. JTW Building have turned their handovers into true celebrations that reflect the quality and care behind their work.
Recently, we had the privilege of providing corporate event photography and videography for a JTW Building handover celebration. It was a moment that represented months of planning, collaboration, construction, and understanding of client needs — from initial concepts and council approvals through to final completion. More than a renovation, it was a transformation.

A Handover That Became a Celebration
JTW are clearly proud of their work — and deservedly so. They don’t just hand over keys; they create a thoughtfully curated experience that reflects the quality, intention, and craftsmanship behind the entire build.
Grazing with Stella created a beautiful grazing table, with colours that blended perfectly against the autumn garden.
The big moment
Joe presented his clients with heartfelt words, followed by the key handover and certification. The clients then enjoyed a ribbon-cutting moment, officially stepping into a space where they will create beautiful family memories for years to come.
Gifting was thoughtfully curated by Cathy at Just Surprise Me, who also added a premium touch to the bathroom with beautifully selected products.
JTW Building didn’t just complete a renovation — they turned a project handover into the celebration it deserved to be.

From Clients to Friends
When a project spans months of planning, council approvals, design decisions, and construction, a strong relationship with you build makes the whole process easier. JTW Building values their clients resulting in trust and respect.
Our couple were gracious, family-focused, and looking forward to the family moments they would share in their new space. Their reactions reflected not only happiness with the finished build, but confidence in the people who brought it to life. JTW Building consistently delivers premium workmanship, but what stands out just as strongly is their commitment to integrity. Inviting a builder into your home requires trust and that trust was evident throughout the entire journey.

Why Businesses Should Capture These Moments
This is where corporate event photography and videography becomes invaluable. Project handover events like this create authentic, unrepeatable content.
These moments can be used on websites, social media storytelling, and future marketing campaigns
Marketing Moments
A handover event is not just documentation…it is storytelling in its most powerful form. It brings people back into the picture. Not just the building, but the emotions, relationships, and celebration behind it.
And this is where businesses stand out! Showing future clients what they can expect with working with your team. When they show not just what they build, but how it feels to experience it.

Every business has milestone moments worth celebrating
Whether it’s a project handover, business opening, client event, conference, or company milestone, corporate event photography and videography preserves the stories that showcase not just what you do, but the impact you create.

Resonate26 conference photography and videography
People rarely connect with an organisation for the first time in person anymore.
They connect through your website, LinkedIn, media presence, internal communications, event coverage and social platforms long before a conversation ever happens.
That’s why professional corporate photography and videography matter more than ever.
Recently, Encore Studio had the privilege of capturing RESONATE26 — a powerful two-day event created for government communicators ready to step fully into their purpose, power and presence.
And what an event it was.

The response from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, and it was inspiring to see the care, passion, and professionalism that went into creating such a memorable and impactful experience.
The Round: A perfect event venue

The staff were, as always, a pleasure to work with. Attentive to every detail and dedicated to ensuring the event ran seamlessly.

Corporate Event Photography & Videography Melbourne
Events like RESONATE26 are a reminder of why professional corporate event photography and videography matter.
Long after the presentations have finished and the conversations have ended, visual content continues to tell the story. Professional imagery and video capture the energy, expertise, connections, and impact of an event, creating valuable assets for future marketing, sponsorship opportunities, social media, media releases, and internal communications.
More importantly, they preserve the moments that make an event memorable, helping organisations showcase their people, celebrate their achievements, and inspire future audiences to be part of the next experience.
What Is Bad Photography Really Costing Your Business?
What Is Bad Photography Really Costing Your Business?
And How Professional Visuals Can Help You Build Trust and Grow
In the digital world, first impressions are everything — and they happen fast. In fact, users form an opinion about your website in as little as 0.05 seconds. That means your visuals — not your words — are what people judge first.
If you’re a Melbourne-based business, hiring a corporate photographer might seem like a “nice-to-have.” But the truth is, low-quality imagery can damage trust, cost you opportunities, and weaken your brand.
The Hidden Cost of Poor Visuals
Whether it’s outdated headshots, dark, grainy event photos, or generic stock, bad photography hurts business more than most people realise. According to Stanford’s Persuasive Technology Lab, 94% of people say poor design (including visuals) is a reason they mistrust a website. That design includes everything from layout and typography to — you guessed it — photography and video.
Photography That Builds Trust
In an world flooded with content, authentic, well-crafted visuals help you stand out for the right reasons.
A professional corporate photographer in Melbourne doesn’t just deliver images — they help shape how your audience perceives your brand.
Whether you’re updating your corporate branding photography, launching a new service, or planning a major event, the right photos can:
• Build trust with potential clients
• Communicate your team’s personality and professionalism
• Increase retention and conversion rates on websites and social media
Photography for business is more than pretty pictures. It’s a marketing must-have.
AI and Stock Images Can Hurt Your Brand
It’s tempting to lean on AI-generated images or stock — they’re fast, easy, and sometimes cost nothing up front. But using visuals that don’t accurately represent your product, space, or team can erode trust or even cause legal trouble if they mislead your audience.
Your client can spot a stock photo a mile away. They want authenticity.
Event Photography That Works For You After the Event
If you’re investing time and budget into conferences, launches or corporate gatherings, don’t let it all go to waste with poor quality imagery.
As a Melbourne conference photographer and videographer, we’ve worked with countless event managers who now use high-quality imagery to:
• Recap events online with confidence
• Build excitement for future events
• Strengthen internal comms and culture
• Build long-term brand assets
Your event photography should keep delivering long after the day is done.
Photography That Improves the Bottom Line
We believe in branded content for business that not only looks great, but supports your growth.
By investing in intentional, strategic photography and video, you can:

Brand Identity
Create a Powerful Brand Identity
Developing a brand identity has become an essential part of any business strategy. It’s important to understand how your company will be presented to the public and how you want it to be perceived by consumers. Having a solid brand strategy can help you differentiate yourself from competitors, create customer loyalty, and increase overall sales. Figuring out what type of branding is right for your business can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be.
Brand Strategy
The brand strategy is an essential part of any business plan. It outlines the company’s mission, values, and goals while providing a framework for how it will communicate these values to its customers. In essence, a successful brand strategy helps organisations stand out from their competition by establishing an emotional connection with their target audience.
Creating an effective brand strategy requires careful planning and execution. It should include research into customer preferences, competitor analysis, market trends as well as a review of your own company’s strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, companies must also consider their core message – what do you want people to think about your organisation? Finally, businesses must develop a unified marketing plan that defines how they will use both digital and traditional methods to promote their product or service.
Who do you serve?
By first taking time to understand what your business stands for, you’ll have a better chance of crafting an effective message that resonates with customers. Ask yourself questions like: What do we represent? What purpose do we serve? And what makes us stand out from our competition? The answers to these questions should guide all aspects of how you define your brand, from logo design and color palette to messaging strategies and marketing campaigns.
Who is your audience?
Identifying your target audience is essential when it comes to launching a successful product or service. Knowing who will be interested in what you offer can help you create the right message and tailor your marketing strategy to reach them. Here are some tips for uncovering who your ideal customer is.
Start by considering the existing customers that support your business. Who are they and why do they buy from you? What needs does your product or service fulfil for them? Once you understand the characteristics of these individuals, you can use similar criteria to identify potential new customers. You should also consider their interests and hobbies, as well as any demographics such as age, location, income level, etc., that might influence their purchasing decisions.
Using surveys and focus groups is another great way to learn more about your target market.
Competition
Understanding your competitive landscape can be a powerful tool in developing your brand identity. By taking the time to analyse and understand who your competition is and what they offer, you can create more effective strategies for staying ahead.
Knowing who your competitors are, what products or services they provide, and how their pricing compares to yours are all key components of understanding your competitive landscape. Additionally, researching their marketing tactics and customer service policies can help you identify areas where you may be able to improve upon their offerings or better meet customer needs. Industry trends can also give you an idea of which direction the market is heading in so that you stay one step ahead of the competition.
What is your offer
If you’re looking to develop a strong brand presence and make an impact in the marketplace, then having a hook is essential. A hook is an offer that helps to draw attention to your business. It should be unique and provide something of value that customers can’t get elsewhere.
An effective hook has the ability to capture the customer’s attention and motivate them to take action or purchase from your business. For example, this could include offering a free trial or sample of your product, discounts off their first order, or any other form of incentive that provides them with more value than they would normally receive elsewhere.
Brand Identity
Your brand identity is an essential part of achieving success in the digital age. Being aware of how to create a cohesive and purposeful brand can help you stand out from the competition, increase customer loyalty, and grow your business. Now that you understand the importance of creating a comprehensive brand, it’s time to start putting it into action. As you plan out your strategy, keep in mind that all aspects of your branding should be connected and consistent.
Let’s work together to ensure your brand speaks to your customer.

Are you getting ready to have a professional photoshoot? If so, there are a few things to consider before the big day arrives! Planning ahead and having everything prepared will ensure that you’re able to make the most of your photoshoot. Here are some tips to help you prepare for your photoshoot.

Skin Care
Skin care is essential for looking and feeling your best in front of the camera! A little effort to nourish your skin, will add to your photo glow.
In the days leading up to your photos, taking good care of your skin is a few easy simple steps:
• Drinking plenty of water to hydrate
• Follow the moisturising and skin care routine that works for your skin
• Moisturise your lips
• Get enough sleep
• Eat a well-balanced diet.
Following these tips can help you look camera ready and make you feel confident in front of the lens.
Outfits: Look the part
Choosing the right clothes to reflect your brand is an important part of the process. Your attire should showcase who you are and what you do without being too distracting. Colour blocks can photograph better than patterns. It’s not just about having a great outfit, it’s also about selecting pieces that will look best on camera. For ideas to reflect your brand, look to Pinterest of inspiration. The perfect outfit may be in your wardrobe or it might be time to hit the shops.
Choose an outfit that flatters you in both the colour and cut. It should also compliment your brand colours. Ensure all your outfits are clean and pressed and lint free. I work with my clients to help them select an outfit that they feel and look great in.
Accessories can really pull an outfit together. Make sure your accessories tell a story. You may not want to wear your smart watch. Try to stick with one accent piece.
Nails should be tidy. If you are wearing nail polish make sure it isn’t chipped.
Props & location: Enhance your story
When it comes to creating engaging marketing photos, the details help. Think of who your client is and what you’d like to know and more importantly feel about your brand. Props, location or studio photography are options to consider. If you have a clinic, shop or office space, you may want a location shoot. Are there certain tools you use that are integral to your job? Or do you want fresh imagery on a plan background that you can easily overlay text on.
Hair & Makeup: Enhance the Look
Hair and makeup can make all the difference. With the help of a hair and makeup artist, you can take your look to the next level and be camera ready for your headshot or branding shoot.
There are levels of makeup from natural to full glam. What’s right for you depends on how much makeup you usually wear and what you are comfortable with along with what reflects your brand. If you have any allergies to products, be sure to mention that to your hair and makeup artist.
• Choose a correctly matched foundation for your skin
• Avoid shimmer, matte makeup photographs better.
The day before
Check your outfits are all clean and ironed. Shoes are polished. Accessories are packed.
Wash hair the night before to allow some of your natural oil to relax the hair.
Get a good nights sleep.
Now you are camera ready…enjoy your shoot
Don’t forget that I’m here to help with planning where needed! I can book your hair and makeup artist, plan locations and shooting style and help you pick your perfect outfit. Now all that’s left, is to enjoy the shoot! 📸
What to wear to your professional shoot
What to wear to your professional shoot
They say the clothes make the man, in this case we should say clothes make the brand. If you have done a lot of brand development, you know your voice and your audience. If you haven’t thought about your brands identity or the image you wish to portray, lets start now. Here are the tips for what to wear to your professional shoot.
Head shot or personal branding
What is the purpose of your shoot? Is it for a head shot or is it a personal branding exercise?
Head shot you say! Well who’s attention are you trying to grab? Is this for internal comms, is it for potential future employers? Do you need a professional or smart casual look? While you are going to the trouble of planning a shoot, ask yourself is there anyway you can maximise your session. Does your face appear anywhere else? Articles, Blogs, Podcasts, internal and external communications. If you do require a head shot for multiple platforms, plan for a few different looks through posing and outfit changes.
What is personal branding, I hear you ask. The aim is to bring in more of yours and your brands personality. This can take place in the studio, in your office or on location. Plan your whole outfit from head to toe for some 3/4 and full length options. Firstly think about everywhere you will use your images. Websites, emails, business updates, internal and external comms, interviews, web banners, social media. We want your image and what you wear to suit the environment your image is pictured in.
Keep it simple
Steer away from logos, slogan or patterns. All these take away from you and your message. Is the purpose of your image to be friendly, approachable, dependable, artistic, strong? Think of the clothes that portray that mood.
Colour
If your brand is elegant, a softer colour may be a safer option. If you are artistic, perhaps you are looking to wear something more vibrant, that of course doesn’t clash with your brand colours.
Does your colour choice make you feel like a million buck? If it makes your face look a little pasty, keep looking.
Will there be a group shot? If so discuss a colour palette with everyone involved. You don’t want one personal in a loud shirt, unless you want all the focus on that person. A group shot should be about harmony. It’s about the team and the relationships.
Dress for your body
A good fit is so important. Make sure that the cut of your clothes suit your body shape. You should feel confident. This also applies to your under garments. Choose the colour and fit to help your clothes fit perfectly.
Presentation
Your clothes should be clean, pressed and in new condition. It’s all about making your feel more confident.
Planning
Lay your outfit out and see how it works. Look at everything from the clothes, to shoes and accessories. Even with headshots, if you think about the whole outfit, you’ll feel more comfortable in front of the camera. It will also give you more flexibility, if you do want to have an image that shows more of you. For personal branding, try to bring 3 outfits to the shoot to give you multiple options and different looks. You may have the perfect look in your wardrobe it might be time to hit the shops.
Hair and makeup
If you are due to see your hairdresser, plan it for the night before or the morning of the shoot. You may also want a hair and makeup artist included in the shoot.
Gentleman, don’t tune out. If your skin is prone to shininess, redness or uneven tones. A light foundation is worth considering. It works for TV presenters and movie stars.
If you aren’t confident applying your own makeup, we can discuss options. Your make up should be to enhance your features. Unless you are an artistic brand, opt for a natural glow look.
Consultation
You are not alone in choosing your perfect outfit. Once you have booked your session with me we will organise a pre shoot consultation. We will discuss purpose of your shoot and you are welcome to send through outfit images or take me on a Zoom call walk through your wardrobe or outfit choices.
So, whether head shot or personal branding, it is clear that planning your wardrobe is the best step to a successful shoot. Now you’ve decided, what to wear to your professional shoot, check out how we can help elevate your business imagery.
